First time in 40 years: Israeli elections to be held on schedule on October 27
Israel's next elections will take place on October 27, the regular date set by law, which is the first time in almost 40 years that the elections were not moved forward but will be held at their scheduled date.
Knesset House Committee chairman Likud MK Ofir Katz officially announced the election date during a committee meeting on Sunday.
The current government will thus become the first in over 50 years to complete its full term in office. The Knesset session will end on July 17.
