Explosions near Damascus hotel hosting Macron during Syria visit - report
A series of explosions was reported near the hotel in Damascus where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying during his visit to Syria.
According to reports, explosive devices detonated after Macron had already left the hotel and traveled to the presidential palace for a meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. The Élysée Palace said Macron did not hear the blasts while en route to the meeting.
French officials added that the president's visit will continue as planned, with no changes to his itinerary.
