Tensions rise between Israel and US over reopening Rafah crossing

Israel was surprised by the announcement to reopen the Rafah Crossing and will seek clarifications from U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Kan News reported Saturday.

Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Israel on an unplanned visit at the request of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following the launch of President Donald Trump’s “Peace Council.” They are also set to discuss Iran with Netanyahu.
