Egypt pushes to contain Iran conflict, keep Israel out of fighting - report
Egypt, together with several Gulf states, is working to prevent further escalation in Iran, according to a report by the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar.
The report says the diplomatic effort is currently focused on pressuring the United States to keep Israel from joining the military campaign, amid concerns that Israeli involvement could open new fronts and trigger a broader regional escalation.
