Egypt again urges Hamas to hand over its weapons
Egypt has once again proposed that Hamas transfer its weapons to Egyptian custody, as part of efforts to advance the next phase of President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza, according to Kan News.
The proposal was raised during meetings in Cairo between senior Egyptian officials and a high-level Hamas delegation, in an effort to persuade the group to soften its position on disarmament.
An Egyptian official told Kan News that Hamas has shown no flexibility on the issue and is instead stalling the negotiations.
