Crew member of Israeli hit show ‘Fauda’ killed while fighting in Gaza as reserve soldier
Matan Meir, a crew member of the Israeli hit series ‘Fauda’ on Netflix, fell during the fighting inside the Gaza Strip on Saturday, Israel Defense Forces announced.
Meir was a reservist in the IDF’s 551st Brigade’s 697th Battalion, was 38 years old and lived in Moshav Odem, in the northern Golan Heights.
The official account of the show posted on X: “We are devastated to share that one of our Fauda family members, Matan Meir, was killed in action in Gaza. Matan was an integral crew member. The cast and crew are heartbroken by this tragic loss. We extend our condolences to Matan’s family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.”
Show creator Avi Issacharoff also sent his condolences to Meir’s family.
