Coalition, opposition blocs even at 52 seats, according to latest Kan News poll
With about a month to go before the elections, the latest Kan News poll shows the two blocs dead-even at 52 seats each. The opposition bloc is led by Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party, which dropped one seat to 23. The coalition is led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud, which rose by one to 21.
Naftali Bennett's Together party came in third place with 11 seats, followed by The Democrats and Yisrael Beiteinu with nine each; and seven seats each for Ben Gvir's Jewish Power, the two ultra-Orthodox parties UTJ and Shas, as well as the Arab Joint List.
The poll is closed out by Religious Zionism with six seats, the Islamist Arab Ra'am with five, and four each for the new parties, People of Israel and the Reservists/Economic Party.
This leaves both blocs with 52 seats; however, the Reservists/Economic Party is seen as leaning toward joining the opposition bloc, while the Arab parties could support an Eisenkot-led minority government.
