CNN: Iranian bombers intercepted minutes before strike on major U.S. base in Qatar
Iranian bombers were minutes away from attacking the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East, located in Qatar, earlier this week, according to a report by CNN.
Citing two sources familiar with the matter, the report said Qatari fighter jets intercepted and shot down the bombers before they could carry out the strike on Monday. The base hosts thousands of American troops.
