CENTCOM says US forces acted against vessels breaching Iran blockade
CENTCOM announced overnight that American forces had intercepted several commercial vessels attempting to breach its naval blockade against Iran, including redirecting three vessels, disabling one that failed to comply, and boarding another for inspection.
The statement on X said the operations were aimed at “ensuring full compliance” with the renewed U.S. naval blockade against Iran, adding that the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters “remain free and open” except for vessels attempting to violate it.
