Campaign to free the last imprisoned Jew in Tehran
All Iranian Jews arrested following the war with Israel have been released — except one: Kamran Hakhamati, a 70-year-old Iranian-American Jew. Hakhamati traveled from New York to Iran last May to visit family and was detained when attempting to leave after the July operation. He has been accused of ties to Israel, a country he last visited 13 years ago. The Iranian Jewish community in the United States is now working through multiple channels — including well-known Haredi activists in New York — in an effort to secure his release.
