Blessing rains: Sea of Galilee level climbs, still 4.38 meters below upper red line

After significant rainfall in recent weeks, Israel’s Water Authority reported Thursday that the Sea of Galilee’s water level continues to rise.

According to official measurements, the lake stands at 213.38 meters (700 ft) below sea level, up 0.5 centimeters over the past 24 hours. While the daily increase is modest, officials say heavier rainfall expected this weekend — exceeding 200 millimeters — is likely to accelerate inflows, particularly from the Jordan River.

The Sea of Galilee remains 4.38 meters below its upper red line.
