Bill to dissolve Knesset passes first reading

A bill to dissolve Israel’s 25th Knesset passed its first reading overnight with the support of 106 lawmakers and no opposition votes.

The legislation advanced after clearing the House Committee a day earlier. Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz, who introduced the bill, said the likely window for new elections would be between September 8 and October 20.
