Before the weekend, IDF stresses: 'We are monitoring the entire Middle East and are well prepared in all theaters'
As he has done for the past several weekends, IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin addressed the Israeli public with a message intended to calm concerns over a possible surprise attack by Iran amid the ongoing tensions, in a statement just before the start of the Jewish Sabbath.
"I also want to emphasize regarding the Sabbath, we are monitoring what is happening across the entire Middle East and are well prepared in all theaters. The Home Front Command guidelines remain unchanged. If there is a change - we will update accordingly," Defrin vowed.
Defrin said he had just concluded a visit to the Gaza Strip, "during which I met in Rafah with the commanders and fighters leading the operations in the Yellow Line area. We are operating in the Gaza Strip in an initiated and systematic manner, clearing the area of terror infrastructure and prepared to shift from defense to offense as required," he said.
"As the Chief of the General Staff said today - there is no immunity for terror and there is no place we will not reach if it tries to raise its head.We continue with determined operations to thwart emerging threats and to uproot terror, in the Gaza Strip and in all nearby and distant combat theaters."
"Peaceful Sabbath and quiet Sabbath to everyone," Defrin concluded.
