Basketball: EuroLeague games return to Israel after two years
EuroLeague teams voted on Thursday to allow basketball games to return to Israel next month, ending a two-year period in which Israeli clubs were unable to host European competitions.
Hapoel Jerusalem (EuroCup) will host Hamburg on December 9, Maccabi Tel Aviv (EuroLeague) will host ASVEL Villeurbanne on December 11, and Hapoel Tel Aviv (EuroLeague) will host Red Star Belgrade on December 16.
For Hapoel Tel Aviv, in its debut EuroLeague season, it will be the team’s first-ever home game in the competition. Club owner Ofer Yenai wrote: “Our first EuroLeague home game will be against our Serbian friends, currently the second-best team in the EuroLeague. A historic moment.”
