Australian Prime Minister: “We will respond to terror and antisemitism, we stand with Australian jews”
Australian Prime Minister pledged a firm response to terrorism and antisemitism, stressing solidarity with the country’s Jewish community following the deadly attack at Bondi Beach on Sunday.
According to a report by ABC Australia, Australian intelligence officials assess that the father and son who carried out the attack were in contact with ISIS operatives inside Australia. Counterterrorism authorities believe the two—Sajid Akram (50), who was killed at the scene, and Naveed Akram (24), who was wounded during his arrest—had pledged allegiance to ISIS.
The report also stated that two ISIS flags were found in the attackers’ vehicle at Bondi Beach, one of which was visible in footage from the scene, placed on the hood of the car.
