'Ashkelon Hacker' extradited to US, could face 35-year sentence

Israeli-American citizen Michael Kedar, known as the "Ashkelon Hacker," was extradited to the United States, the U.S. Department of Justice said late Monday night.

Kedar, 27, served seven years in prison in Israel. He later sought asylum in Norway but was ultimately extradited to the United States.

Kedar was charged with making hoax threats against Jewish institutions about a decade ago. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 35 years in prison.
