As Hezbollah disarmament deadline nears, IDF prepares for major offensive in Lebanon
The IDF has drawn up a plan for a broad offensive against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon if the Lebanese government and army fail to dismantle the group’s military infrastructure.
In recent days, the Israeli Air Force has carried out extensive exercises over Israel and the Mediterranean, involving fighter jets as part of the preparations.
A senior security official told Kan News that the United States was informed Israel will act on its own to disarm Hezbollah if Lebanon does not do so — even at the risk of several days of fighting or a renewed war in the north.
The U.S. passed the warning to Beirut, but Lebanese officials responded that the disarmament process is complex and that they need more time to meet the agreed targets.
