Angelina Jolie visits Rafah crossing on humanitarian trip
Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing on Friday as part of a humanitarian visit focused on the situation in Gaza.
According to local media, Jolie reviewed the condition of wounded Palestinians from Gaza and assessed ongoing efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the enclave. She was accompanied by a representative of the U.S. State Department, the governor of North Sinai, and Egypt’s minister of migration, as part of Egyptian-American coordination on humanitarian assistance.
In April, Jolie shared a post with her 15.9 million Instagram followers stating that “Gaza has become a mass grave for Palestinians and for those helping them.” Shortly after the war began in November 2023, she condemned Israeli airstrikes, writing that Gaza was “an open-air prison” and accusing Israel of deliberately bombing a trapped civilian population.
