American forces strike ISIS targets in Syria
The United States said Saturday it carried out a series of airstrikes against ISIS targets across Syria, in response to a December attack by the terror group on U.S. and Syrian partner forces near Palmyra.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said more than 35 ISIS targets were hit, with over 90 precision-guided munitions fired and more than 20 aircraft involved. “If you harm our forces, we will find you and kill you anywhere in the world,” CENTCOM said.
The military added that the strikes were part of Washington’s ongoing effort to destroy ISIS, prevent future attacks, and protect U.S. and coalition forces operating in the region.
