30 female Israeli Air Force personnel join strikes on Iran
About 30 female Israeli Air Force personnel, including pilots and navigators, are taking part in strikes on Iran in Operation Lion's Roar, the IDF Spokesperson stated today.
Combat Navigator Maj. S. said extensive training and briefings prepared them for the mission. “The moment we take off, everything comes together into one purpose: defending our home,” she reflected. “That is the mission, and that is also the sense of responsibility that accompanies me every second in the air,” she added.
Earlier this year, IDF data found that nearly 8,500 women served in IDF combat units in 2025, roughly double the number of female combat soldiers in 2020 and nearly ten times higher than a decade ago.
