20 years on, IDF releases logs from day of Gilad Shalit abduction to Gaza
Marking 20 years since the abduction of Gilad Shalit, on Thursday the Defense Ministry's IDF Archives released operational logs from the day the then-corporal was kidnapped into the Gaza Strip.
The newly declassified records from the Southern Brigade's operations center in the Gaza Division chronicle the unfolding events, beginning with the first reports that a tank had been hit and culminating in the realization that Shalit had been taken captive.
