11 arrested near Jerusalem’s Old City as Jewish youths filmed attacking two Arab men
Eleven suspects were arrested overnight for public disorder, vandalism and violent offenses near Jerusalem’s Old City, Israel Police said.
The statement came as footage circulated showing two Arab men being attacked by Jewish youths outside Damascus Gate. One of the men is pushed to the ground before managing to run away. In a second video, the person recording can be heard saying, “It’s the police!” before the group disperses.
According to police, hundreds of rioters blocked roads, threw stones, damaged vehicles and stole one that was later abandoned before moving toward the Damascus Gate area.
