After Libya diplomatic fiasco, Netanyahu orders to be updated on all secret meetings
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered all ministries to request his personal permission for future secret diplomatic meetings, his office announced on Tuesday.
The order comes in response to the aftermath of the public disclosure of a meeting last week between the foreign ministers of Israel and Libya.
Foreign Minister Eli Cohen’s decision to publicize the meeting with Libyan Foreign Minister Najla El Mangoush led to her dismissal and an investigation into the matter.
El Mangoush reportedly fled to Turkey, while Cohen's conduct has received strong criticism from the U.S. government and the Israeli opposition.
