7,071 new COVID cases on Saturday, but positive test rate increases to over 7%

The Sabbath, or Saturday, usually has a lower number of tests than weekdays, but the positive rate increased to 7.1% for a total of 7,071 new COVID infections. The total number of active cases crossed the 80,000 mark.

The number of people in serious condition also increased to 726, which is the highest since March.

The academic school year starts in 3 days on September 1 and there are currently 34,000 students infected with COVID and over 90,000 in quarantine.
