In this powerful and emotional interview, All Israel News Editor Joel Rosenberg speaks with reporter Hanan Lischinsky directly in front of the U.S. Capitol, the day after President Donald Trump's State of the Union address.
Hanan shares the heartbreaking story of losing his younger brother, Yaron Lischinsky (30), and Yaron's girlfriend, Sarah Milgrim (26), both dedicated staffers at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. On May 21, 2025, the couple was brutally murdered by a fanatical gunman outside the Capital Jewish Museum after attending an event for young Jewish professionals and diplomats. The attacker shouted "Free Palestine" and "I did this for Gaza," in what was widely condemned as an act of antisemitic domestic terrorism.
Yaron and Sarah had met through their shared commitment to Israel and the cause of the hostages following October 7th. They were deeply in love, with Yaron planning to propose during an upcoming trip to Israel to introduce Sarah to the family—a dream tragically stolen from them.
Amid profound grief, Hanan was personally invited by House Speaker Mike Johnson to represent his family at Trump's SOTU address. (The invitation was originally extended to Hanan's parents, but travel risks kept them home.) Hanan attended a reception in the Speaker's office, met key leaders, and witnessed the historic speech from inside the House chamber.
In this candid conversation, Hanan reflects on:
Coping with unimaginable loss through faith, prayer, and the overwhelming support from Christians and people worldwide.
The surreal experience of shifting from journalist to part of the story.
Strong bipartisan (especially Republican) support for Israel observed in the room.
Trump's warnings about Iran's nuclear threat, terrorism, and the high-stakes global implications for America and Israel.
This interview highlights themes of tragedy, resilience, faith, and unwavering U.S.-Israel alliance in turbulent times.
Watch to hear Hanan's moving testimony of honor, hope, and the ongoing fight against extremism.
