Jewish High Holidays - Prayer for Protection, Repentance, and Peace

Next week begins the Jewish High Holidays—Rosh Hashanah, the biblical Feast of Trumpets. This season launches the Ten Days of Awe leading to Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) and Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles), all outlined in Leviticus 23. It’s a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal, reminding us of God’s covenant faithfulness and ultimate plan of redemption.
But this year, the holidays come during heightened tensions. Israel’s National Security Council has warned of elevated terror threats abroad, citing Iranian-backed groups and other jihadist networks. Dozens of plots against embassies, Jewish communities, and Israelis have been thwarted in recent months.
In this week’s All Israel Prayer Points, Kayla Sprague invites us to cover Israel and the Jewish people in prayer during this significant season:
Protection for Israel and Jewish communities (Psalm 91:4)
Repentance and renewal during the Days of Awe (Joel 2:13)
Peace and hope for the future (Isaiah 27:13)
As the trumpets sound this year, may they remind us not of fear, but of God’s faithfulness.
