Mansur Ashkar explains how an Israeli F-35I “Adir” stealth fighter shot down an Iranian aircraft in what is believed to be the first air-to-air kill by an F-35 in a dogfight. The Iranian aircraft involved was a Yak-130, a Russian-made advanced trainer jet that can also be used for light combat missions.

This marks the first aerial dogfight involving an Israeli fighter pilot in decades, and highlights the technological gap between the Israeli and Iranian air forces.

The F-35I “Adir” is Israel’s customized version of the American stealth fighter, equipped with Israeli communication systems and the ability to carry advanced Israeli weapons — designed to maintain Israel’s military edge in the Middle East.
