More than two years after he was abducted, Staff Sergeant Ran Gvili (z”l) — the last Israeli hostage held in Gaza — has been brought back to Israel.

Following new intelligence, IDF forces located his remains during a search operation in Gaza City, ending 843 days of uncertainty. The emotional images of soldiers escorting Ran’s coffin marked a painful but meaningful moment — not only bringing closure to his family, but also closing a chapter in which Israeli hostages were held in Gaza.
