Ancient Aramaic Inscription Found in Dead Sea Cave | All Israel 101

Archaeologists in Israel have uncovered an extremely rare Aramaic inscription in a Dead Sea cave, dating back nearly 1,900 years — possibly to the time of the Bar Kokhba Revolt against Rome.
Written in Aramaic with ancient Hebrew script, the four-line text begins: “Abba of Naburya has perished.” Scholars are still working to decipher the rest.
The cave, located in the Ein Gedi National Park, has yielded other extraordinary finds — including four Roman swords in near-perfect condition and even a much older First Temple-period inscription blessing the God of Israel.
In this episode of All Israel 101, Kayla Sprague explains the significance of the discovery, what it tells us about life and faith in the Judean Desert, and how these ancient words connect to the story of the Jewish people — and even the language Jesus spoke.
